Google has been around for 23 years. Indirectly big, there is a history of the founding of Google to bring its founder into the ranks of the human being USD100 billion. Unlike the current image, Google started very simply.

Citing Slate, Monday (27/9/2021) Google was founded on September 4, 1998. Actually, the idea of establishing Google had been in Larry Page's head two years earlier. He made himself the CEO of Google while his partner Sergey Brin was named the co-founder of Google.

Page and Brin met when they were at Stanford University. Brin has a very open and passionate character, while Page is more introverted. They balance each other out.

Google's $1 million funding came from their friends and family who believed that Google would be successful. Google's office was established. No, not as big as it is now. It all started in a garage.

February 1999, the startup grew rapidly. Page also moved his office from the garage to a new office in Palo Alto, California. Seven months later, they moved to Mountain View again as Google's business grew.

Google was advancing at a rapid pace, even though it wasn't making any money at the time. Because of that, they started looking for new investors.

They managed to get a new investor on the condition that Page and Brin would retain most of the voting stock and still have full control over Google.

Investors agreed, but they also had a condition: Page had to step down from his CEO position. He was considered inexperienced so they began to look for candidates. In the end, it was Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Novell.

It wasn't easy for Page, because Page is a person who really likes to control things so that things run well. He wants everything done right and right.

Page also found it difficult to let go of the CEO position because he felt he could lead Google with Brin's help. But eventually Page realized that Google needed a CEO who had experience and world-class status, in order to continue to grow.

Schmidt became chairman of Google in March 2001 and became CEO in August. Schmidt managed to lead Google and finally took the floor to the stock exchange in August 2004. Be Page and Brin as billionaires.

In 2011, Schmidt had enough to lead Google. Larry Page was deemed worthy of commanding his company again and he became CEO again. While Schmidt became chairman of Google.

Then in 2015, Page and Brin decided to form a parent company Google called Alphabet. Page became CEO, Brin became President and Schmidt became Executive Chairman. While Google is led by CEO of Indian descent, Sundar Pichai.

In 2019, Page and Brin decided to step down from Alphabet and appoint Pichai as the new CEO. The two founders of Google now rarely appear in public.

All the efforts made by Page and Brin paid off. Larry Page and Sergey Brin continued to climb their fortunes. Even in the latest list of Bloomberg Billionaires Index, their wealth has penetrated USD 100 billion. Only eight people in this world have wealth above USD 100 billion.
