This Online Store Frees Tuition Fees For 750 Thousand Employees

The online store giant Amazon provides a new facility to its contract employees, namely paying all tuition fees for those who are interested. As many as 750,000 employees who are paid hourly by Amazon can get it.

Apparently recently the competition between companies in the United States to get employees is getting tighter, so that more facilities are provided. Starting January 2022, Amazon will pay tuition fees to its contract employees' textbooks.

In addition, employees can also take courses such as language. Most of these contract employees are those who work in Amazon's warehouses, which are everywhere to support its operations. Amazon's competitors such as Walmart and Target have run similar programs.

This is one way to attract workers. Even in some areas, Amazon offers an immediate $3,000 bonus once an employee joins.

In the midst of the Corona pandemic, Amazon does need a lot of employees because its business explodes as many people stay at home. In 2020 alone, they have recruited 500 thousand new employees.

"Amazon is currently the largest job creator in the United States and we know that investing in training in our teams can have a huge impact on hundreds of thousands of families across the nation," said Dave Clark, Amazon's Head of Worldwide Consumer.

In the past, Amazon has often been criticized for its low salaries and lack of facilities for warehouse employees. They are trying to improve themselves by increasing their hourly salary until this new program is educating them for free.
