Spaces was first launched on Twitter in November 2020, a feature that was introduced to rival Clubhouse's success in offering audio-based chat room services.
Spaces is an audio-only voice chat feature that allows hosts to stream voice chats with other Twitter users. Audience members can listen or be part of the conversation.
At that time Spaces could only be used by users on a limited basis where those with 600 followers or newer could create Spaces.
But after a year running Twitter finally opened Spaces to all Twitter users without limits, as reported by The Verge, Monday (25/10/2021).
In a tweet, the Spaces Team announced a change where all Twitter users on Android and iOS can now host Spaces. It also offers GIFs which briefly refresh users on how to host Spaces.
the time has arrived -- we're now rolling out the ability for everyone on iOS and Android to host a Space

Twitter has brought many features to Spaces such as the ability to co-host up to 10 speakers. In addition, there is the Spark program, a fundraising event for Space creators. Then there is Ticketed Space where users who want to join must buy tickets.
