Music streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify have different ways of attracting new users. For Apple Music they don't offer a free service as a trial, while Spotify instead provides a free service for a set time.
Following Spotify's steps, YouTube Music also offers free services to its users, but from the start some features will be removed.
YouTube has announced that free users will no longer be able to watch music videos on its service unless they subscribe to YouTube Premium.
For ordinary YouTube users, users can still watch videos and even music videos they want even though there are ads. But if you do it on YouTube Music for free, you won't be able to watch music videos anymore.
This means that free YouTube Music users can only listen to audio. But even though the music video has been removed, users can still listen to music in the background even after exiting the app, shuffle personalized mixes, and much more.
This change is expected to take effect on November 3. This is YouTube's effort to attract users to subscribe to YouTube premium which has other facilities such as listening to music without ads.
