How to Upload Photos and Videos on Instagram Via Desktop

After a long wait, Instagram finally allows users to upload photos and videos via a browser on a PC or Mac. This feature has been active globally since October 21 yesterday.

Before this feature was available, Instagram users who wanted to upload photos or videos from a computer or laptop had to open the developers tool in their browser first. This method is certainly very complicated when compared to the upload process on the mobile application.

The presence of this feature will certainly be very helpful for creative workers who work a lot in front of the computer, such as photographers and content creators. Now they can directly upload their edited content to their computer via a browser, without having to transfer it to their phone.

Without further ado, here's how to upload photos and videos on Instagram via a browser on a PC:

Go to the instagram.com site and log in using your account.

Click the + icon in the top right corner. This icon is flanked by direct messages and explore buttons.

You will be presented with a window to create a new post. Click Select from Computer to manually select photos or videos in File Explorer. If the photo or video is already open in File Explorer, you can also drag and drop it directly into the browser.

After selecting a photo or video you will see the editor page. In this section, you can choose to crop or zoom the photo as desired by clicking one of the two buttons in the lower left corner.

You can also add photos or videos by clicking the icon in the lower right corner, then clicking the + icon and selecting the second photo to upload. When finished click Next.

Then you can add filters using several options offered by Instagram.

You can also edit photos further using the existing Adjustments options, such as adjusting the brightness, contrast, temperature, and others. When finished, click Next.

Then you can write a caption and add a location for the uploaded photo or video. You can also tag other users by clicking on the photo, then typing the name of the account you want to tag.

Once satisfied with the edited photo or video, click Share in the upper right corner. Your photos or videos will immediately appear on the Instagram feed.

So that's how to upload photos and videos on Instagram via a browser. It should be noted that currently Instagram limits the length of videos that can be uploaded via the browser, which is under one minute.

If you haven't seen this option on your Instagram account, don't worry as this feature is rolling out gradually for all users. So please wait patiently.
