This is the first Xiaomi cellphone to get Android 12

After 'graduating' from beta, Google will soon release Android 12 to its line of Pixel phones. Likewise with other Android phone manufacturers, including Xiaomi.

There are several series of Xiaomi phones that will get the Android 12 update first. Of course the lucky series is a row of flagship phones, namely Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra. Unfortunately, despite carrying the name Mi 11, Mi 11 Lite is not on the list.

Then specifically in China, there are also several other variants that have previously also undergone a beta period for Android 12, namely Mi 11X and Mi 11i. But both of them are also not on the list of the first Xiaomi phones that will get the update.

Apart from the Mi series, there are also Redmi series, namely the Redmi K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ which are in the first wave of Xiaomi phones for Android 12. However, the update is still being tested internally, and the exact date of its release is unknown.

On the other hand, there are Oppo and Realme which have already set a date for the availability of their new OS. Namely October 11th for ColorOS 12 and October 12th for Realme UI 3.0. According to Google, there are Samsung, OnePlus, Vivo, and Tecno that will update their phones to Android 12 in 2021.

Previously reported, Google has finally released a stable version of Android 12 to the Android Open Source Project after going through a beta trial period for several months.

Apart from bringing many new features, Android 12 also brings back the Android tradition of using the name sweet food.

Android 12 now has another official name, Snow Cone. This name is official because it was announced directly by the Vice President of Engineering for Android Dave Bruke via Twitter.

It's the first time Google has returned to using the sweet food name for Android in three years. As is known, in 2019 Google stopped using a unique name for its mobile operating system when it launched Android 10.
