Apple Stops Sales in Turkey Due to Currency Value Crisis

Apple has reportedly suspended sales of its products in Turkey for a while. This is because Turkey is experiencing an economic crisis in which its currency is declining considerably.

The Turkish Lira fell 15% earlier this week, having a negative impact on the current economic crisis.

The decline of the Turkish currency came as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan defended the recent decline in interest rates.

Until now the official Apple store in Turkey is still alive and operating, but users are not allowed to add devices to their virtual cart. The reason is due to currency volatility in Turkey.

Currently, the exchange rate of the Turkish Lira is equivalent to about USD 0.078 (Rp 1,100), despite inflation of about 20% because the Turkish President refused to raise interest rates. In other words, the downward trend is expected to continue further.

It is not known how Apple's plans in Turkey for the future, but with the assumption of a temporary halt to the sale of iPhone and other products, it is expected that it will be reopened soon.

In the current economic crisis in Turkey, Apple also does not know until when Apple will temporarily stop selling its products in Turkey.
