Elon Musk said that to find out who Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, could be by tracing who wrote the idea before Bitcoin was released.

1. Nick Szabo is a computer expert, academic and cryptographer who is known for his research on digital contracts and digital currencies. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He also has a law degree from George Washington University Law School.
2. Nick created BitGold in 1998. This project was never completed or became famous, but many consider it the forerunner of Bitcoin. According to Nick, he wanted to find a solution to the inefficient traditional financial system.
3. In 2014, Aston University Center for Forensic Linguistic conducted a language study of Bitcoin scientific papers to find out the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. It was concluded that Nakamoto was Nick Szabo based on linguistic similarities.
4. One of the security is that the Bitcoin white paper was compiled with the open source Latex platform that Nick often uses for publication. Many of the phrases in the Bitcoin white paper are found in other of Nick's writings.
5. Nick has repeatedly denied that he is the creator of Bitcoin. "I'm afraid that you guys mistake me for Satoshi, but I'm used to it," he said in 2014.
