BlackBerry OS Will End, BlackBerry 5G Still Released

BlackBerry 5G was originally slated to land in the first half of 2021. But almost all the news about its release has disappeared. Moreover, a number of old BlackBerry phones had to be contested because the BlackBerry OS was turned off.

Of course this makes many people wonder, will BlackBerry 5G still be released? The answer is yes. At least that's according to the company that makes the phone, OnwardMobility.

In a short blog post OnwardMobility explained that they were forced to face various delays that prevented them from delivering their 5G phones in 2021.

In fact, OnWardMobility is still working on a highly secure 5G smartphone, complete with the BlackBerry signature keyboard, and that phone will receive more regular updates starting this month.

As quoted from Tech Radar, OnWardMobility has not said when BlackBerry 5G will actually start shipping. But from their statement it looks like the phone will be released in the near future.

Interestingly, no BlackBerry brand name was mentioned in the statement. So, it's possible that the phone won't be launched under the BlackBerry brand. But this is still a speculation until now.

OnwardMobility had previously leaked that the BlackBerry 5G would have a top-of-the-line camera and run Android. The phone will have a physical keyboard, support 5G, and is aimed primarily at enterprise, government and security-conscious users, as well as users who want a productivity-focused smartphone.

Hopefully BlackBerry fans won't have to wait too long to see it.
