Samsung finally inaugurated Exynos 2200, the first System on a chip (SOC) used a graphical chip from AMD.
The AMD GPU used uses RDNA 2 architecture, which has features such as accelerated ray tracing hardware, we quoted us from The Verge, Tuesday (18/1/2022).
Samsung's cooperation with AMD has actually happened for a long time, which was first announced to the public in 2019. Then at 2021 AMD confirmed that Samsung's SOC Flagship will then use the RDNA GPU 2.
Exynos 2200 was made using the Samsung EUV 4NM process, and Samsung named this new GPU with the "Xclipse" code. AMD also ensures that this chip is the first chip of several AMD RDNA GPUs that will be used in SOC Exynos in the future.
On the CPU side, Exynos 2200 uses Core ARMV9 on a "Core Flagship" Cortex-X2, three Core Cortex-A710, and four efficient Cortex-A510 cores. Then the new NPU used was promised to have a doubling performance compared to its predecessor, and ISP (image processor) used to support the camera sensor up to 200MP, one of which was the Isocell HP1 sensor released by Samsung last year.
Typically, the latest exynos flagship will be used in the latest Galaxy S, except variants released in the United States using Soc Snapdragon from Qualcomm. But there are also manufacturers like Vivo who wear exynos chips on some of their cellphones.
The Galaxy S22 is predicted to slide at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event which was held on February 8. Meanwhile the order in South Korea will be opened a day after releasing, namely February 9, and sales began on February 24.
Samsung itself will most likely announce three new cellphones namely Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + and Ultra Galaxy S22. These three models will carry the exynos 2200 chipset (and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in several countries).
The Galaxy S22 Ultra is predicted to be the "successor" of the Galaxy Note Series by carrying a stylus s pen that is integrated with the cellphone body. The top variant will also be equipped with a curved screen, a 5,000 mAh battery, and four rear cameras with a 108 MP main camera.
