Donald Trump's Twitter Version, Truth Social Releases February 21st

A year ago, Twitter froze Donald Trump's account. Now Trump is ready to launch his own version of Twitter, Truth Social, on February 21. Anyone want it?

Exactly one year, Americans commemorate the political unrest at the US Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 ago. When mass supporters of President Donald Trump attacked the US capitol.

As Americans look back and reflect on the incident, Donald Trump has other plans. It announced that Donald Trump's version of Twitter, called Truth Social, is ready to be released on February 21, 2022.

According to The Verge, Monday (10/1/2022) the date was deliberately chosen by Trump because it coincided with the Presidents Day holiday. This is a holiday in memory of George Washington.

Truth Social will launch first on the App Store. This app was developed by Trump Media Tech LLC. There is a Pre-Order option for those who can't wait to get it right away, even though the app is free.

The icon is a T in a dark blue gradient like the Republican Party colors -- Donald Trump's party -- and the font matches the same font.

The official screenshots on the App Store show a very similar user interface to Twitter. There are headers, account profiles, timelines, including what's trending and a feature to find other users. There is more chat and share.

I don't know if this is potentially misleading or not. Judging from the description, the post will be called Truth (the equivalent of a Tweet - red). The repost will be called Re-Truth (equivalent to Retweet - ed).

The similarities between Truth Social and Twitter are well-founded. Trump is a Twitter fan. Twitter is a mouthpiece for Trump to issue his controversial statements.

As a result, Trump was permanently banned from using Twitter in January 2021, following the riots at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Trump tried to sue Twitter for his account again, but failed.

For now there is no information whether Truth Social is also available on Android. The only option on the official website is the App Store. Trump said in December 2021 that Truth Social was partnering with Rumble for its video and streaming content.

Truth Social, although not yet released, has caused controversy. Microblogging developer Mastodon in October 2021 said Truth Social copied their code but didn't recognize it as open source. After there was a protest, then Truth Social admitted that they were using open source from Mastodon on November 12, 2021.
