His daughter was addicted to the top up Genshin Impact, this man got a bill of 20,000 Singapore dollars

Play gaza games like Genshin Impact can indeed endanger the wallet if you can't control themselves. Like the case in Singapore, where a father received a credit card bill because his daughter was addicted to the top up Genshin Impact.

The man named Lim Cheng Mong said he was shocked when he was questioned by his bank that there was a debt bill of 20,000 Singapore dollars that had not been paid from 89 unknown transactions.

"At first I thought I was tricked, but the credit card company said that this was all legitimate transactions and nothing they could do," Lim told The Strait Times, as quoted by The Star on Wednesday (5/1/2022) .

After being traced, the bill turned out to be from the 18-year-old grab e-Wallet account. Lim does connect his credit card to the grab account to pay for his child's transportation costs.

Without his knowledge, Putri Lim connects the digital wallet account to Genshin Impact. He then used the account to the top up Genshin Impact from August to October 2021.

In the case of Lim, his daughter pays the top up through the Apple App Store and Coda Payments, online payment transaction platform. Once the top up, his daughter can buy an item with a value of up to 300 Singapore dollars.

"I rebuked him and said it was a very much money - equivalent to school money one year if he studied at a state university," said Lim.

"Large amounts of money are spent in the blink of an eye," he continued.

Lim said at this time he managed to claim Refund worth 10,000 Singapore dollars from his credit card issuing company. He then reminded his son who was also a gamer about the dangers of online snacks and confirmed that he would not pay any game service.

Lim hopes the company and authority will review the rules for online transactions, especially those involving children.

"We as parents don't have any control. This is a disaster waiting to happen and I want to make sure more parents realize it," he concluded.
