After long rumors, Samsung itself immediately confirmed the presence of the Galaxy S22 series. The latest flagship phone will be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2022.
In his blog post, the President and Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronic TM Roh did not provide a specific date. But rumors are circulating that the Galaxy S22 will be introduced on February 8, 2022.
"At Unpacked in February 2022, we will introduce you to the most important S series device we have ever made," Roh said in his blog, as quoted from Engadget, Friday (21/1/2022).
In his blog, Roh also gave a little teaser about what features will be present on the Galaxy S22, such as night photography, a longer battery life, and faster performance.
He ended his blog with "Get ready for the ultimate Ultra experience" which indicated that the above features will be present exclusively on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Roh also gave a recap about the Galaxy Note line which implies that this phone line is really dead. He said how the Galaxy Note made a splash by presenting a large screen and S Pen stylus support.
Roh acknowledged the disappointment of Galaxy Note fans when this line of phones didn't launch last year. But he reassured Galaxy Note fans that the features they love from the line have not been forgotten and will be coming to the most 'noteworthy' new devices.
"The next generation Galaxy S is here, bringing together the best Samsung Galaxy experiences into one great device," he wrote.
Just like the previous year, Samsung is expected to launch three variants of the Galaxy S22 consisting of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. All three will be equipped with the Exynos 2200 chipset, but in some countries they will get versions with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Previous leaks stated that the Galaxy S22 will come with a 6.06-inch screen, the Galaxy S22+ with a 6.55-inch screen, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a 6.8-inch screen.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a slightly different design compared to its predecessor. The design will actually be reminiscent of the Galaxy Note series with the S Pen stylus integrated into the phone body.
