Forbes has just released a list of the 10 highest-earning YouTubers in 2021. In the first place is Mr. Beast which earned USD 54 million .
Mr. Beast or whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson is the newest number one YouTuber in 2021. Previously this position was held by Ryan Kaji, a young YouTuber who likes to review toys.
Mr. Popularity Beast is soaring after doing some unique stunts last year. One of them when he remade Squid Games in the real world with a prize of USD 456,000. The video has been viewed more than 202 million times in just two months after its release.
In addition, the 23-year-old man also spearheaded the #TeamSeas fundraising campaign which raised USD 30 million to clean the ocean.
In second place is the controversial YouTuber Jake Paul who is back in the top 10 list. Paul made $45 million in 2021, but most of his income comes from the boxing matches he participates in.
Meanwhile, Ryan Kaji, who previously topped the list of the most popular YouTubers since 2018, dropped to seventh. The 10-year-old YouTuber made $27 million in 2021.
The only female YouTuber on this list is Nastya. This seven-year-old YouTuber is in sixth place with an income of USD 28 million, as quoted from Forbes, Monday (17/1/2022).
Based on the Forbes report, these top 10 YouTubers earned a total income of USD 300 million, up 40% from the previous year. About half of their income comes from advertising, but there is also money from other platforms Twitch, Snap, Facebook, podcasts, NFT to merchandise.
Forbes compiles estimates of YouTubers' earnings using data from Captiv8, SocialBlade, and Pollstar as well as interviews with industry insiders. This data was collected from January 1 to December 31, 2021.
