PS5 Can Be Commanded Using Voice: Hey PlayStation!

Sony is preparing a software update for the PlayStation (PS) 4 and PS5, including accessibility features and voice commands.

This voice command feature has actually existed on the PS4 since it was first launched in 2013. However, it is only now that the feature will be presented on the PS5, as quoted by Engadget, Wednesday (9/2/2022).

This update for PS5 will first roll out in beta for PS5 users in the United States and the United Kingdom. Users can activate this feature by calling the PS5 using the word "Hey PlayStation".

Users can use their voice to open games or other applications, and of course make menu settings or control the media that is currently playing.

Accessibility features have also been updated, where users can make the headphones only output mono sound. This, according to Sony, will help users who have hearing problems.

The group chat feature also gets updates, whose names are changed to parties. Users can choose whether the conversation is displayed privately or open to the public.

The game list view can also be filtered by game genre, and there are five games that can be pinned to the console's home screen for easy access.

If you want to try out the beta system update, just wait for the invitation email from Sony to be the beta tester. The update itself will be distributed in the near future.
