Not Beautiful and Rich, These 4 Things Include Privileges You Have but Often Don't Realize!

You will often see the word privilege or privilege on social media. Moreover, there are more and more memes that satirize motivators who are considered not really struggling from scratch because they come from an abundant family economy.

Most people associate privilege with being physically beautiful-handsome or being the son of a rich person. This assumption makes people often assume that success comes if we have one of the two privileges.

In fact, the perception of privilege has expanded and is not the only two. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, privilege means the opportunity to do something special or enjoyable.

You need to realize, we also have one of those opportunities. Anything?

1. Supportive Parents

The times are growing, parents are required to follow the development of media and information about parenting. The goal, of course, is to understand and support the child.

If you have such parents, it is your privilege. Having parents who are supportive of positive activities and our goals can be "gasoline" to fuel our spirits.

Not everyone has supportive parents. There are still some of our friends who are "locked up" by the narrow thinking of their parents, even if they are children of rich people. So, thank supportive parents who understand your thoughts and feelings.

2. Taste Education

Privilege is not just about studying abroad or at an expensive university. If you can finish school and maybe even go to college, that means you already have privilege.

Education helps us broaden our horizons and thoughts to face the challenges of work. Not everyone has the privilege of education. There are still many friends of our age who may not even be able to read, write, and count because education has not yet reached their regions.

Be grateful for your privilege as simple as listening to your teacher/lecturer seriously!

3. Have Friends and Connections

If you have a friend who is supportive and can be difficult and happy, that's also a privilege. The existence of friends makes us feel valuable and wanted, they can be our partners in crime too.

Having connections doesn't mean your friends have to be sultans or artists. If you are an easy-going person and that makes you have many friends and connections who are ready to help and support you, that's your privilege.

Especially if you are opening a business such as an online shop, surely your friends are your priority "target". So you are not really zero to attract consumers.

4. Feel Warm and Safe

Did you know that not everyone has a safe place to lie down? In reality, returning home with a sense of security and comfort is not something that everyone can have.

Your feeling of security and comfort can be a privilege for some people. A comfortable home and environment make us feel relieved because we have a place to go home when we are tired or not in the mood and don't want to go anywhere.

So, yes, you can feel warm and safe, you can lie down when you're tired, you can stay with instant noodles if you're hungry, and just put on a blanket when you're cold is a privilege.

Is Privilege Bad?

Good or bad privileges depend on their use. If because of privilege, you don't appreciate hard work, underestimate other people, and do things that harm others, this is clearly a bad thing.

It is undeniable, privilege makes it easier for us to achieve our dreams. However, privilege is still not the main fuel. Can easily get what we want because of privilege without hard work, our success will be temporary.

Not only that, we also become people who easily give up when we meet a situation that is not good for us. You could say that privilege is the trigger of success, hard work makes it last.

Hard work and an unyielding attitude remain the most important keys to realizing your dreams. So, take advantage of the privileges that are in you well.
