In celebration of International Dance Day on April 29, Apple provided an update to its fitness service, Apple Fitness+ on Apple Watch.
One of the most interesting changes is the addition of dance exercises from the South Korean boy band, BTS which includes choreography of hit songs such as 'Dynamita', 'Mic Drop', and Permission to Dance.'
Additionally, new content will be available in the Artist Spotlight series and will include new playlists from artists such as ABBA and Queen. Also lots of BTS puns that will get ARMYs (as BTS fans are called) excited to adjust to BTS!
On April 25, which is the perfect date for Spring Day, Apple will also be releasing a new collection of exercises to make dancing easy for beginners with three 20-minute guides.
There will also be three 30-minute options that are more performance-focused, and cover categories like 80s classics, Latin music, and hip hop. The latter is great for Hip Hop Lovers.
Adding the K-pop music genre makes sense considering how popular the genre is in the global market. What's more, BTS became one of the best-selling groups in the US in 2021 with 2.95 million digital song sales and four of the top 10 best-selling singles.
However, it's not just BTS. Apple has also added a new Dance Collection titled 'Get into a Groove with Dance' and is offering a limited edition award for International Dance Day.
This collection is a relatively new addition to the service and is a sports playlist curated for specific purposes such as running 5 km. Besides BTS, Apple also added Artist Spotlight sessions from ABBA and Queen as reported by us from The Verge, Monday (25/4/2022).
