Google finally took firm action by cutting off access to two of the 11 data-stealing applications. People who have this application, delete it immediately!
The latest developments are 11 user data stealing applications, including the Azan-Salat application.
As of April 25, 2022, there have been two (out of 11 applications) that have been cut off by Google, namely Simple Weather & Clock Widget and Full Quran MP3 - 50+ Languages & Translation Audio.
Based on the latest data, the Simple Weather & Clock Widget and Full Quran MP3 - 50+ Languages & Translation Audio applications have both been downloaded up to one million downloads.
For people who have already downloaded this application, it is recommended to delete it immediately.
As previously reported, security researchers AppCencus discovered an application that contains an embedded software development kit (SDK) to retrieve sensitive data from users' phones. In fact, this SDK is referred to as malware by researchers.
The user data that the 11 data-stealing applications cover are phone numbers, email addresses, IMEI information, GPS data, and router SSID.
Some other applications can also track the user's location. In total, dozens of applications caught stealing sensitive user data have been downloaded more than 60 million times. Especially during the month of Ramadan, more and more Muslims in the world are using it to help carry out worship.
