The Huawei Mate Xs 2 was finally officially launched today with a fold-out screen design similar to the previous models. Some rumors that Huawei will use a more similar Galaxy Z Fold do not seem to come true. When in the open position the device has an OLED screen of 7.8 ″ and 6.5 ″ when folded that supports a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The device however only comes with the same Snapdragon 888 4G chip as the one used on the P50 Pro which was launched a few months ago. This is matched with memory of up to 12GB LPDDR5, storage up to 512GB and a 4880 mAh battery that supports 66W charging.
The main tri-camera combines a 50+13+8MP sensor and a 10.7 MP selfie camera. There is optical zoom support up to 8 times. Like previous models, the main tri-camera is placed on the side vertically.
The body design is sturdy because it uses titanium material for more durability. One interesting thing is that the screen doesn’t seem to have any noticeable folding effect. It also supports the use of the M-Pen 2S stylus.
In China the Huawei Mate Xs 2 is priced at RMB 9999 (~ RM 6592) for the 8/256GB model, RMB 11,499 (~ RM 7581) for the 8/512GB model and RMB 12,999 (~ RM 8570) for the 12/512GB model in three options black, white and purple.
