Japan is already popular in the robotics arena. Interestingly, recently, one of the companies in Japan, namely Japan Rail West Company (JR West) demonstrated the use of a giant robot in overhauling power lines.
Interestingly, these giant robots are controlled by humans at a distance through the use of virtual-reality (VR) headsets. The robot also reacts to head movements and so on, thus further facilitating control.
With the use of this robot, it also makes it safer in the overhaul process, as well as further increase productivity.
JR West is expected to further expand the development and use of robots in the coming years.
