Maybank now comes with a new feature called ATM Cash-Out. Through it, Maybank allows users to withdraw money from ATM machines without using an ATM card, instead just scanning the QR code.
For information, Maybank has previously also come up with a feature to withdraw money without an ATM card, but using SMS code -based verification. But, with this ATM Cash Out feature, it looks more user friendly.
To use it, users first need to activate the ATM Cash Out feature on the MAE application. This activation will take approximately 24 hours before it can be used.
Once activated, you can go to any ATM machine that supports it, and then scan the QR code on the ATM screen. Next, you can do the verification and withdraw money directly from the ATM.
For this Cash Out ATM, it requires a pin or biometric authentication for withdrawals below RM1000, and for more than that, it needs to be accompanied by Secure2U authentication.
Use of this feature will also not issue receipts through ATM machines, instead being offered digitally on the MAE app.
In this post-Covid-19 era, this feature allows you to withdraw money without touching an ATM-and only to withdraw money. This feature is limited to MAE users only, and is not supported on the Maybank2U app.
