Netflix Now Displaying "AD" Badge For Hearing Impaired Users

Netflix is a streaming platform suitable for all groups of users. For those who don’t know, Netflix is among those that support features for disabled users to enjoy content in their platform.

If you notice while wanting to select subtitles and language, there will be an audio description option which is a feature that describes what is going on in the movie or TV series via audio. The second feature is CC subtitles (closed caption) or closed caption, where the subtitle will also explain what is happening through the text.

Netflix recently stated they will continue to focus on this accessibility feature. They will further enhance this feature by displaying an AD badge (audiod description) on their content. In addition, they will also add more different languages for subtitles and dubbing.

Their addition is, on their platform for the Lucifer TV series alone there are 500000 hours of users using the AD feature. Of the total number of users available, 40% frequently use subtitles.

Netflix now already has over 11000 hours of AD content from over 30 different languages. Netflix is more likely to add deaf and dumb user accessibility features to original content, while other content is still in the process.

It will eventually be easier for these disabled users to find content that supports and enjoy original Netflix content, by simply looking for the AD badge that is displayed.
