These 5 Places Are Allegedly Lost Atlantis!

The continent of Atlantis is a legendary island that was first mentioned by the philosopher Plato. The mention of the name Atlantis is in his book, Timaeus and Kritias. Plato called the island lost in 360 BC and until now a mystery.

Despite many skeptics, a handful of people believe that what Plato described about Atlantis was real. They are also trying to find the Continent of Atlantis which is still a question mark.

There are various theories that are believed to be the actual location of Atlantis. Here are some of them:

1. Spartel Bank

What is known, Plato said the lost city was located outside the Pillars of Hercules, two stones in the Strait of Gibraltar. Spartan Island was there.

Passing sailors may have seen it vanish at the end of the last ice age. However, if that is the case, there is no record to show that the Spartal Bank was Atlantis.

2. Bimini Street

In the mid-60s, diver Manson Valentine discovered uniform-looking rocks half a mile apart in the Bahamas. Although it is considered a geological event -- because of the unusual arrangement and shape of the rocks -- it is believed that these formations are remnants of the ancient path of Atlantis.

3. Helike

A tsunami hit this Greek city in 373 BC, many think its remains lie in the Gulf of Corinth. In the 1990s, archaeologists found it half a mile down, buried under sediment through a process called soil liquefaction.

4. Antarctica

Historian Charles Hapgood argues that the southern continent was once a northern landmass with Atlantis on its shores. Then, 12 thousand years ago, a shift in the Earth's crust sent it southward. For the record, Antarctica did experience it about 30 million years ago.

5. Indonesia

A scientist from Brazil, Arysio Nunes dos Santos, in his book 'Atlantis, The Lost Continent Finally Found, The Definitifve Localization of Plato's Lost Civilization' compares several countries with the characteristics of the Continent of Atlantis, starting from the area, weather, natural wealth, volcanoes. to farming methods. Unmitigated, his research for the book took 30 years.

Santos finally concluded that Indonesia was the continent of Atlantis. He also showed Natuna Island, Riau Islands as the mysterious city. However, many researchers do not agree on this.

Even so, scientists have agreed that there is a submerged continent in Indonesia, its name is Sundaland. This submerged continent is a shallow sea area between Sumatra and Kalimantan. However, there is no evidence of any civilization found at the bottom of the ocean.
