Apple is rumored to be making additional work schedules for its retail employees. The iPhone maker told its retail employees at several stores that the change in working hours would take effect in the coming months.
The changes include extending the minimum time period between shifts to 12 hours from 10 hours. Unfortunately, Apple has not provided a response to the additional changes to the working hours of its employees.
Last week, Apple told Reuters it would raise the salaries of US employees to $22 an hour or more.
The Cupertino, California-based company was criticized online last year for its working conditions by some of its current and former employees.
In April, workers at an Apple store in Atlanta petitioned to hold a union election, seeking to become the company's first US store to unionize amid a wave of labor activity at other major companies.
Meanwhile, Microsoft Corp. said Thursday that it will not reject union efforts because it recognizes their legal right to choose to form or join a union.
