Ernest Prakasa's comic is being highlighted by netizens on social media due to his comments about the Formula E title that took place on Saturday (4/6/2022) yesterday. As a result, many Formula E fans directly criticized Ernest on Twitter.
Initially, Ernest commented on the tease from @ezkisuyanto's account on Sunday (5/6). The joke that seems to say that Formula E has no fans in Indonesia has now been removed, but has been immortalized by netizens' screenshots.
"It's natural that the brand doesn't want to spend money. Don't be like the Moto GP which is a prestigious event, Formula E, whoever is following to try other than the committee," wrote Ernest.
Ernest soon uploaded the next joke saying that his comments about Formula E made him attacked by netizens.
"Speaking of Formula E in the context of a sports arena, the penboys have already been immediately attacked by Mr. Capres, right? Hahaha, the spirit, guys!" wrote Ernest.
But, the criticism that came towards Ernest was not only from regular social media users, but also by Formula E fans who have been following this race for many years.
Many fans were disappointed to see Ernest compare Formula E to MotoGP, let alone linked to politics. According to them, international sports events like this can both be used to raise Indonesia's name on the world stage.
"Hi bang @ernestprakasa, the tweet was deleted hehehe. We have been following Formula E since 2017. And we are not a committee. We were born based on our passion as racing fans," said the @FormulaGle *** account.
"Well ernest, even though a lot of tablets follow fe, maybe the social media algorithm is different so I don't know, I myself watched fe from the race in beijing season 1, remember I used to look for illegal relives on youtube, because gatau was broadcast where," he said @teman_menden ***.
"I mean the committee, right? As a person who follows motosport, yesterday I took care of sanity so as not to comment on problems like this, now read the statement like this, it's very sad. Indonesia deserves to lack drivers in motosport, there are events like this already," said @agsdx ***.
Receiving criticism from Formula E fans, Ernest also apologized on Twitter.
"Oh really. Well, then I'm wrong. I'm sorry. Good luck with the promo, hopefully the sport is more popular," he said.
