On iPadOS 16, multi -tasking will be faster and similar to macOS through a feature called Stage Manager. At WWDC iPad users can use up to four floating windows to show other apps that have been opened.
If you’re excited about this feature, the excitement will probably be curtailed as it’s only limited to iPads equipped with the Apple M1 chip only. Therefore only iPad Pro 11 ″ 2021, iPad Pro 12.9 ″ 2021 and iPad Air 2022 will be supported.
To use Stage Manager, iPadOS 16 requires large memory and high processing power. The Apple M1 is equipped with 8GB of RAM which is sufficient to allow this feature to be used smoothly.
In addition to improved multi -tasking support, Stage Manager also supports output up to 6K resolution on connected monitors. A total of four application tracks can be opened in the form of a window on this secondary monitor.
