Netflix now faces challenges in continuing to expand and add their new user numbers. In parallel, there are now rumors saying Netflix may be in talks to buy a Roku.
Roku is one of the service providers in the TV streaming arena, including providing specialized hardware to be connected to the television screen.
For the record, Roku also saw losses due to the recent fall in share prices.
One of the advantages of the Roku that is said to attract Netflix's interest is Roku's advertising technology. Netflix is ready to state it wants to introduce advertising support on their platform, and this acquisition may provide access to that technology.
Anyway, for now, the purchase of Netflix by Roku still remains just a rumor.
