Kuo - Apple AR Headset Sale Postponed To Q2 2023

At yesterday’s WWDC event, many were waiting for Apple to give some preliminary glimpses of their augmented reality (AR) set after there were rumors it would be unveiled at the event. But this did not lead to some speculation about their AR headsets. The only thing visible at the beginning of WWDC was the MeMoji with the headset hidden from full view.

Leading analyst Ming-Chi Kuo now says the launch of this headset has been postponed to Q2 2023 due to operational disruptions in China caused by Covid. According to his forecast the headset will be unveiled in January 2023 with orders opening in Q2 2023. The device will go on sale before WWDC 2023 with the event to be used to showcase interesting things users can do with the headset later.

Kuo has a good track record in predicting the products that Apple will launch. AR headsets are seen as the next evolution for Apple as the iPod and iPhone have changed the company’s trajectory over the past 20 years. This also caused other companies such as Meta and Samsung to also develop their own headset projects so as not to miss out on venturing into the world of metamesta.
