The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission now says it will impose regulatory action on internet and telecommunications providers who fail to provide quality services.
The partnership is an extension of the communications minister's directive to ask MCMC to conduct an audit of internet services throughout Malaysia, including mapping the actual speed of the internet and comparing it with what is shared by telecommunications companies.
MCMC also emphasizes that service providers provide quality services to consumers.
Suppliers who fail to fulfill their promises to consumers, can be punished with a fine not exceeding RM300,000 or imprisonment for up to 3 years, or both.
