Nepal is currently in the process of relocating the Everest central camp to another location, due to the existing central camp being increasingly diluted due to human activity.
Today, the Everest central camp is used by many climbers while climbing the mountain. However, lately, it is seen that the location is melting.
Several climbers have also reported identifying glacier and crevice gaps occurring while they are asleep.
This is due to climate change, in addition to the heavy human activity through the area, in addition to high urine rates - about 4000 liters a day, and also the use of fuel and gas for cooking and heating the body that affects the water there.
The new camp site is expected to be available at lower altitudes, less than 200m to 400m - where there is no ice all year round. However, this will lead to the distance the climber has to travel from the camp site upwards even further.
