The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has now issued a warning, urging the public to be wary of fake emails that use the identities of national leaders, or companies that give out-of-the-ordinary instructions.
MCMC urges the public to be careful and check any communication received-and not shared with others.
This is an effort to avoid falling victim to fraudulent activities.
The public is also asked to report to the police if untrue or fake email content is received.
