Vincent Wang, General Manager of Global Publishing and Global Esports Tencent Games, revealed the purpose of PUBG Mobile for gamers. One of them connects players around the world.
"In addition to allowing players to actively interact with each other, we have also created a channel, and opened the door for players to build friendships, connect and share their passions with each other," Wang explained to us recently.
Wang also gave examples, such as the PUBG Mobile Jawara community in Indonesia. With about 100 groups have joined, to create unique moments with each other, through this battle royale game from Tencent.
"Through PUBG Mobile and our efforts, we are proud that a close-knit community has been formed around PUBG Mobile. Because this game requires tremendous collaboration and teamwork," said Wang.
He said that apart from forming social relationships between players while playing games, his party saw other things. According to him, this community has emerged to support various good causes and campaigns.
"For example, our community of players came together to collect donations of US 1.85 million, or around Rp. 27.4 billion, to support health workers during the pandemic. We realize that developing a safe, inclusive and healthy gaming environment cannot be done alone," Wang said.
Wang and his party also want to make the concept of playing games not only about competition, but still being able to entertain. One of their efforts is to consider the things that PUBG Mobile players like or don't like.
"How these changes will impact the way the game is played for other players. Like many aspects of our lives, balance is key," said Wang.
