Lately Valve may be better known for the production of their computer gaming device, the Steam Deck which makes it easy for owners to play computer games on their Steam account anywhere.
But they are also one of the pioneer companies in the development of virtual reality technology through a collaboration with HTC by developing the HTC Vive device. Since then, Valve has also showcased their own virtual reality set called Valve Index.
Most recently, Valve was seen wanting to develop a new set of virtual reality based on the Valve Index device, and was recently granted a patent for a design of a virtual reality device with some additional features to previous devices.
Valve Index has previously featured the use of built -in headphones for audio purposes, but the design featured in this latest patent shows that the headphones can be moved slightly depending on the user’s head movement.
It also comes with a head -back buckle design that not only has two knobs, but a frame that is seen to house a number of new components for the set of virtual reality devices.
This latest design will see Valve develop a virtual reality device that only requires a WiFi connection to connect a user’s computer to the device, allowing users to enjoy an immersive digital world experience without having to worry about the clutter of cables around them.
For now it is not yet known when Valve will introduce their new set of virtual reality devices.
