With Apple Watch, users can do many things even when they are far away from their iPhone, such as listening to songs, reading and sending messages and even answering calls.
Well, another recent capability is the presence of the WatchTube application which allows users to watch YouTube videos directly from the Apple Watch.
The WatchTube app can be downloaded and used directly from the WatchOS App Store. After the application is installed on your Apple Watch, just open the application and watch the desired YouTube video.
The interface is also simple, users will find four different sections in the application such as Home, Search, Library and Settings.
Just like the YouTube app, Home will show trending videos on the platform. If you wish, this app lets the user select certain categories of videos to show on the Homepage.
With WatchTube, users can also subscribe to and save videos to save in the Library tab list. But unfortunately, the WatchTube library is completely local, this means users cannot link it to a YouTube account.
Luckily, this app provides a QR Code so you can share and access certain videos on other devices like your iPhone or iPad.
Apart from these features, WatchTube also supports video captions and even provides an option to change the caption size. Videos load quickly onto the Apple Watch and if you don't have AirPods or Bluetooth headphones the app will use the built-in speaker of the Apple Watch.
According to WatchTube developers, a future update will add an audio-only mode so users can listen to songs on YouTube without having to keep the Apple Watch display on.
