Zuckerberg's Confidant Resigns Brings USD 1.7 billion

Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Meta, which is Facebook's parent company, has resigned. Mark Zuckerberg's trusted woman also got so much money.

Sandberg resigned after 14 years working with Zuckerberg. He is still a member of Meta's Board of Directors, but is no longer in charge of the company's operations.

As one of Facebook's bigwigs, Sheryl regularly gets shares and the amount is not small. As quoted by us from CNBC, the 52-year-old woman has consistently sold it for years.

In total, Sheryl is estimated to have cashed 22 million shares worth more than USD 1.7 billion.

Sheryl also became one of the richest women in the world of technology, even only losing to the former CEO of Hewlett Packard, Meg Whitman. Meg's net worth is estimated at USD 3.2 billion according to Forbes and Sheryl at USD 1.6 billion.

However, Sheryl Sandberg is known for not living in luxury, for example showing off a private plane or yacht. His house is indeed very large and is located near Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California.

Sheryl is Zuckerberg's trusted right-hand man. Together, they raised Facebook, which was once a small technology company.

"When I first met Mark, I wasn't looking for a job, and I never predicted how meeting him would change my life," she wrote on Facebook.

Sheryl also said goodbye even though she was still on Meta's board of directors. "When I took this job in 2008, I hoped to be here for only 5 years. Now 14 years later, it's time for me to write the next chapter in my life," added Sheryl Sandberg.
