During this time, China became the world's factory with almost all smart devices, computers and electronic equipment installed in the country. But the economic war and the handling of the pandemic forced producers to start thinking about finding alternative locations to avoid any disruption.
According to a Nikkei Asian report, Apple is starting to think about manufacturing the Apple Watch and MacBook in Vietnam. Vietnam is an interesting alternative because it is a neighbor to China to facilitate the import of components. But the main reason the MacBook can be manufactured outside of China for the first time is because simpler components make it easier to assemble the first time.
Previously iPhones and AirPods were manufactured in Vietnam. With a high workforce, a good location and relatively low labor costs make Vietnam the preferred technology manufacturing center in Southeast Asia.
