Hands On Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 5G: More Compact and Faster

Samsung has released the Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G, the foldable successor to the Flip 3. What are the advantages of this foldable phone?

We had the opportunity to try out the Flip 4 5G first hand, which was launched globally from New York, United States.

Seeing it the first time as if there is no difference with its predecessor. But when you look at it up close, you can see a difference.

The frame and edges are made more flat. When you hold it, you really feel the difference, it feels more ergonomic and friendly in the hand.

As a device that is often folded, Samsung claims to have increased the durability of the Flip 4. The body is wrapped in Gorilla Glass Virtus + with an amor aluminum frame, the hinge has exceeded the 200 thousand times endurance test.

And, we feel it. When opened or closed, the hinge feels solid. However, the process of opening and closing itself is so easy.

The 1.9-inch Super AMOLED screen on the front of the phone now allows us to do many tasks that normally can only be done on the inner screen. We can even modify the appearance to suit the mood.

When opened, the Z Flip 4 presents a 6.7-inch screen with a 2X Dynamic AMOLED panel, a resolution of 2,640 x 1,080 pixels and an adaptive 1~120Hz. The picture quality is unquestionable.

Samsung provides an upgrade to the Flip 4 camera. Although the size of the dual camera on the outside is still 12 MP, the results are promised to be good at shooting at night and making stable videos.

Samsung also makes it easy to shoot portraits using the camera and screen on the cover. This South Korean tech giant provides several options for using the Galaxy Z Flip 4 camera.

One of the highlights of FlexCam. This video capture mode is like recording with a handycam. This is suitable for those of you who want to record or need content, such as vlogs.

Samsung also polished the Flex Mode feature so that its use is more optimal. One of the new capabilities is the TouchPad. So when the screen is half folded, at the top it will display the application while at the bottom there is a control area like a trackpad on a laptop.

We can navigate using the cursor. Or you can take screenshots, turn up the volume and more.

Samsung has worked with developers to ensure that popular apps are now fully optimized. When watching YouTube, Netflix, or Disney Plus, all of these apps now separate control from video, allowing us to have a more immersive experience.

The Z Flip 4 also provides hands-free streaming mode. It lets you live stream to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and other apps in a more optimized way.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor and comes with 8GB RAM along with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage options. We didn't have time to do a benchmark test to strengthen this assessment, but on paper, the blend can deliver fast performance.

A significant improvement from last year is the battery, which has been upgraded from 3,300mAh to 3,700mAh. Samsung says that with an upgraded processor and better software optimization, as well as more capacity, the Z Flip 4 offers an additional 3 hours of screen-on-time compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Overall, Samsung gave the Galaxy Z Flip 4 a little display just to increase the comfort of use. The big changes are even on the inside, making the Galaxy Z Flip 4 powerful and fast in performance.

But this assessment should be strengthened by a deeper test. So wait for the review of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 on Thecekodok, okay?
