Microsoft Introduces Outlook Lite App For Android – Faster And Saves Battery

Microsoft this week launched a new email application called Outlook Lite. It is an email application that aims for a smaller installation size, able to operate at a smoother performance and save battery consumption.

This application is targeted at devices with at least 1GB of RAM and has an installation size of only around 5MB. It can also be used with slow or limited Internet connections such as for users in developing countries.

Microsoft's offering is similar to what Facebook and Google are doing for their Lite and Go version applications such as Facebook Lite or Gmail Go. This Outlook Lite application can be used to access Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, MSN, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Exchange Online email accounts. It will be offered to Android users in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Venezuela.
