The government today confirmed that the tender process for the selection of devices under the PerantiSiswa initiative has been completed, and the brand for the tablet offering is the Samsung brand.
The model that will be offered is the Samsung Galaxy A8 LTE.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 LTE comes with a 10.5-inch screen, equipped with 4GB of RAM memory – as set by the government before. Provision of Student Devices has also previously been determined to be provided with keyboards and styluses, which may use third-party offerings.
For information, Samsung Malaysia is ready to offer a variant of this tablet with 3GB RAM, and only WiFI support at a price of RM999 since January 2022.
The government will start distributing tablets under this Student Device in stages starting this August. Each tablet also comes with a two-year warranty from the supplier.
