TikTok Parent Company Bytedance Buys Hospital Network In China

The company behind the popular app TikTok, Bytedance, has now taken over and bought one of the hospital chains in China, focusing on women and children.

Bytedance paid around 10 billion yuan (~RM6.6 billion) in taking over Amcare Healthcre. Amcare was previously established in 2006, and operates seven women's and children's hospitals, two clinics, as well as five post-natal centres.

With this step, it simultaneously shows Bytedance's focus in the health arena. It is also in line with the steps of various other giant companies entering the health arena.
