Recently, WhatsApp was reported to be developing a feature using Avatars for video calls. A feature that allows users to answer video calls with their own customized avatars, while also being able to switch between their own faces and avatars.
There is also a new report that states that the feature will soon be able to be used for profile picture settings as well. Through it, users can customize an avatar to be used as a profile picture on WhatsApp. A screenshot shared via wabetainfo.com also reveals a few details of how it works.
Through it, users can customize and choose an avatar, then choose a background color and set the avatar as a profile picture. It is understood that this capability can also be used on the desktop.
Even so, this feature is said to be still in development and will receive some improvements before launching for the full version. Maybe we'll see it introduced in a few months.
