At this point, WhatsApp allows its users to give an emoji reaction to a message. It looks like it will be extended to statuses with predefined emojis, similar to the reaction feature on Instagram Stories.
Through it, users can easily react to status updates uploaded by friends. There are 8 types of emoji available, including smiley, happy, surprised, applause and others. Users are allowed to choose one emoji at a time, then a reaction notification will be sent in the form of a message to the recipient.
In addition, some new privacy features were also tested. Among them, the login system is now improved where the owner's permission is required for third parties to access an account. Through it, a shared 6-digit code will be sent for each request.
At the same time, there is also an option to share phone numbers. It is understood that this feature allows the user's phone number to be hidden from the public or specific WhatsApp groups when activated.
It is however only accessible to a handful of beta users of the Android beta version for now. However, it is expected to be extended to iOS devices and all users in the coming months.
