Google Photos Will Be Selected as the Watch Face on Wear OS

In just two weeks, Google will launch their Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch on October 6. The price of the Pixel 7 has just leaked, while the screen design and the full design of the Pixel Watch have been revealed recently.

The Pixel Watch will be Google's first standalone smartwatch. The watch is said to have Fitbit integration, likely have a battery life of around a day and is expected to sell at a higher starting price than the Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Recently, 9to5Google reported that Google will also offer special watch faces specifically for the Pixel Watch. This clock face is through the Google Photos application, where the user can then directly select any picture in this application to be set as the clock face.

In fact, the latest version of Google Photos already has the ability to send photos directly to the Wear OS watch which in my tests it could be done on the Galaxy Watch5 Pro. But this feature is seen only to place images in the gallery on the watch and cannot yet be selected as a watch face.

This means, it's likely that this feature will be offered to all Wear OS users in the future, and the Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch may be the first to support it.
