Google to this day is still fighting Apple for them to use the RCS messaging system and stop using iMessage. Google wants iPhone and Android users to live happily together and no more problems with green and blue text bubbles.
Hundreds of millions of users are already using RCS. However, this feature in Malaysia is not yet widespread and depends on the telecommunications company to offer it or not. RCS is iMessage for Android, which is an SMS replacement messaging method that uses the Internet.
In the Code Conference event with Jony Ive and Laurene Powell Jobs, Tim Cook said that no user has yet asked Apple to integrate RCS into the iPhone to send messages to others.
Tim answered the question "how do I want to send a video to mom", with "just buy your mom an iPhone".
The team also did not state that they will not integrate RCS, they just don't see the benefits and benefits for them for now. Because of that, Apple won't spend time and energy on features that aren't widely requested.
This is not really a big problem. Both Android and iOS users have options for other messaging methods, link sharing and more. So if you want to share any media files with your loved ones in high quality, but they use Android – use applications like WhatsApp or Signal that Google itself recommends. These two messaging apps are free for Android and iOS users to use.
