Right after the iPhone 14 Pro series went on sale, there were several YouTube channels doing their own tests to see if the advertised crash detection feature worked. It's obviously true but its effectiveness was proven last week in Nebraska.
Nebraska police received notification of a serious accident last Sunday. Upon arrival at the scene, the emergency services found a car that had collided with a tree with six passengers inside. Five passengers died at the scene while another died while being treated at the hospital.
This makes this the first case where the iPhone 14 Pro's crash detection system managed to contact the police complete with the location but unfortunately it did not manage to save the victim's life.
