The Asus ROG Phone 6D series was introduced last September, as an alternative to the Asus ROG Phone 6. This new model uses a new flagship device processing chip, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ with Mali-G710 GPU.
There are no changes to other specifications such as the screen, camera or battery. The only other change is the AeroActive Portal which is now in a better location to be used with the AeroActive Cooler 6 for better heat dissipation which promises to be 20% better than before. The Asus ROG Phone 6D series is now entering the Malaysian market.
The Asus ROG Phone 6D comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ (2448 x 1080) screen with a 165Hz refresh rate protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It is powered by a Dimensity 9000+ chip with LPDDR5X 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS3.1 internal storage. For the camera it uses a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide angle sensor and a 5MP macro sensor. The selfie camera is 12MP.
The camera supports 8K UHD 24fps video recording, 3-axis OIS and HDR10+ recording. The device also supports WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. The device remains using Dirac HD Sound symmetrical stereo audio system with 5-magnet Cirrus Logic to make it louder and louder. It also has a 3.5mm Hi-Res Audio 192 kHz / 24-bit audio jack port. three microphones are also provided with ASUS Noise Reduction technology.
Asus ROG Phone 6D also comes with an under-screen fingerprint scanner, an AirTrigger 6 ultrasonic sensor with press grip as a capacitive shoulder button for video game control and a 6000mAh battery with PD 65W fast charging support. The device runs the Android 12 operating system.
For the Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, it comes with the same design and specifications – except for the memory which is LPDDR5X 16GB RAM and UFS3.1 512GB internal storage and the rear panel with a PMOLED panel for notification display and charging.
In Malaysia, the Asus ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate are only offered in the Space Gray color option. The selling price of the Asus ROG Phone 6D is RM3,499 and for the Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate at a price of RM4,999 with AeroCooler 6 included.
Sales will begin on November 9. In conjunction with the launch, ROG Phone 6D can be obtained at a price of RM3,199 from November 9-30.
