Various ideas Elon Musk wants to use to generate profits for Twitter after it is taken over. Among them is raising the Twitter Blue subscription fee to $8 with identity verification complete with blue smearing. But according to The Platformer report, Musk has an idea to make Twitter fully paid.
This idea was discussed by Musk in a recent meeting. With the free plan, Twitter can only be used for a certain period of time and it becomes unlimited for paid users. It is not known at this time whether this idea will continue or not.
In the same report, staff at Twitter expressed concern that the introduction of Twitter Blue would be detrimental to the platform in the near future. One of the advantages of Blue is that ads will be cut in half compared to a free account. The $8 fee charged cannot cover the reduction in ad revenue that was cut in half earlier.
Twitter Blue currently only has 100,000 subscribers. The probability that it will increase after the fee increase is low. Since Twitter was taken over the company's operations have been in disarray with fired employees being recalled after their expertise was needed to continue operations.
