iPhone Seized From Store In Brazil For Failing To Provide Chargers

The Brazilian government previously fined Apple for selling iPhones in the country without a charger with every purchase. This violates Brazilian law that requires all manufacturers to include a charger. Then the sale of iPhone 12 and above is banned for the same reason.

Now the authorities in Brasilia Brazil have started confiscating iPhones sold in stores to further enforce the ban on the sale of the phone. Seizures were carried out at the premises of major telecommunications companies as well as Apple's official reseller stores in the city. Apple has already requested that the sale of the device be allowed while the company finds a solution to the presence of chargers in the box of purchased devices.

Apple stopped giving away chargers and earphones a few years ago in a move it says reduces electronic waste. Although initially laughed at, Apple's actions are now being followed by other manufacturers such as Samsung and Sony.
