Upcoming AMD APU Chips Expected to Use AMD RDNA3 Graphics Chips

AMD Accelerated Processing Unit or APU is a SoC processing chip that combines processing and graphics chip components in one component that allows laptop or desktop computer manufacturers to develop computers that can be seen as powerful enough, but with a more compact size.

Two of the APUs that will be introduced by AMD are Dragon Range and Phoenix which are developed for gaming laptops (Dragon Range) and also basic productivity class laptops (Phoenix).

A recent update to the driver software code of these two APUs seems to have leaked that these two APUs will come with the new RDNA3 graphics chip built into them. For now it is still unknown whether this is for all APU models that will be introduced by AMD, or only for a handful of high-performance models.

AMD is expected to introduce the Dragon Range and Phoenix APU processing chips at the CES 2023 event, while their RDNA3 graphics card series, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 will be launched on December 13 this year.
