The micro lens has gone through several research and development tests to deliver an unprecedented level of magnification on a smartphone camera. The magnification of a micro-lens camera refers to the ratio of the size of an object on the screen to its actual size.
OPPO places the micro-lens module on the device's rear camera frame instead of attaching it directly to the motherboard. That's because the focal length of the micro lens is relatively short, so it requires the device to be placed very close to the object of the photo.
Due to its protruding placement, it is possible for small objects such as dust and hair particles to get trapped between the lens modules. Therefore, the micro lens component in the OPPO Reno8 camera is assembled to high standards in an airtight enclosure as OPPO's effort to minimize the entry of fine dust or fine particles that are accidentally trapped in the micro lens gap.

OPPO also added an Orbit Light, a circle of lights around the lens to provide additional lighting so that light can evenly illuminate the subject. As a result, every detail will be clearly visible when shot at macro scale. Orbit Light will scatter and soften the light emitted by the two LED lights to provide fill in light at a close enough distance.
OPPO designers made the colors and shapes of the micro lens and Orbit Light in harmony with the OPPO Reno8 display. This feature is tested using various materials and light colors to ensure that it captures bright and even images with accurate color balance.
Apart from being the camera light of the OPPO Reno8, the Orbit Light also functions as a notification light by emitting a subtle light that flashes slowly in different patterns, for example when the device is turned on, charging, receiving calls or notifications, and opening games.
The combination of a micro lens and Orbit Light, makes the OPPO Reno8 device capable of producing images with captivating quality and detail. Users can produce unique photos by utilizing this feature.
